Euxeinos - Governance and Culture in the Black Sea Region

The Center for Governance and Culture in Europe has published the online journal "Euxeinos - Governance and Culture in the Black Sea Region" since 2011. "Euxeinos" derives from the Greek term "Pontos Euxeinos" and delineates the Black Sea region comprising Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Russia, and Ukraine. The literal translation of "Pontos Euxeinos is "hospitable sea."

Contributors to Euxeinos analyze social processes in the Black Sea Region from a political, cultural, and economic perspective. Each issue provides interdisciplinary articles, analysis, expert opinions on key topics by international experts, and an editorial by a guest editor. The online journal with multidisciplinary issues around the Black Sea region supports the networking efforts between scientists and scholars in Switzerland and the Black Sea region.

The Landis & Gyr Foundation provides funding for the online journal Euxeinos.

Euxeinos follows the Open Access guidelines set forth by the Principals' Conference of the Swiss Universities (CRUS), the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), and the Swiss Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences (SAHS).
